An Empty Christmas

By Isabelle M.

My warm heart is gone,

I’m out on the street.

My hands freezing over,

Jack Frost at my feet.

The streets are perfect, with trees and lights,

And yet rats sleep beside me,

on cold winter nights.

No gifts for me,

No Christmas dinner.

Because when you’re homeless,

Your never a winner.

Dedicated to all the homeless this Christmas.
